Language instruction and Linguistics. Through classroom activities and self-study you will gain a practical command of the Norwegian language. Your teacher in charge speaks English, German, Russian and Slovakian besides Norwegian. The language programme stresses; - listening and reading - oral and written presentation - pronunciation and practical grammar. Our international students are encouraged to practice their Norwegian with native speakers under the supervision of the teacher. In your free time, the folk high school experience provides a unique opportunity to befriend Norwegians and live the Nor-way! The Bergen Certificate The course will provide a strong foundation for those who wish to continue on to take the Bergen test. This test is a recognized certificate of competence in the Norwegian language, which enables you to study at Norwegian universities and colleges or to work in the Norwegian civil service.		A Unique Experience At Agder Folkehøgskole you will meet people with varied interests and backgrounds and make lasting friendships. Learning takes place in a stress free environment encouraging independence and self-awareness. In addition to your class in Norwegian language and culture, the school offers various projects, activities and subjects of free choice for our international students. These include choir, photography, film history, Russian language, literature, ceramics, skiing, painting, raku, history of jazz, film music, deep sea fishing, salsa and swing dance, swimming, volleyball and many others. Trips and Excursions Gain a practical understanding of Norwegian society and culture. Take the opportunity to experience majestic mountains, the beauty of the sea and Norway's famous coastline. The excursions take you to Hovden ski resort, Setesdalen valley, Norway's major cities; Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger and our close Scandinavian neighbours, Sweden and Denmark. We visit the theatre, the cinema, galleries, museums, major tourist attractions and commercial and public establishment.
